Your Shipment Has Reached Fiji-What Happens Next?

Once your shipment reaches Fiji, the receiver must complete a few destination-side steps before collecting it. DTDC will help with the documentation, local charges, inspection and release process so the receiver knows what to expect.

Complete the Delivery Order Process

The consignee in Fiji will require the House Bill of Lading to begin the collection process. Any applicable local charges are collected there. After this, the receiver receives a Delivery Order, commonly referred to as a DO.
The Delivery Order is then presented by the consignee at the depot.

Customs and Biosecurity Inspection at Collection

When the consignee arrives at the depot with the Delivery Order, the cargo is made available for inspection. Customs and Biosecurity may inspect the shipment in the presence of the consignee.
If there is no objection from Customs or Biosecurity, the consignee can collect the shipment. This depot-based collection process also allows the consignee to check whether the shipment is in good order, whether anything appears damaged, and whether any carton is missing or tampered with.

No. The standard service is currently designed as door-to-depot. Cargo may be collected from the sender in Australia, but the receiver normally collects from the applicable depot in Suva or Lautoka.
The total timeframe depends on cargo handover, the sailing cut-off, vessel movement, Fiji arrival procedures and any required inspection or fumigation.
Collection is from the destination agreed during booking. Any change is subject to availability, conditions and possible additional charges.
The receiver must complete the applicable Fiji release process and present the required release documentation before collection.
Additional inspection or fumigation may create extra time and charges.
